Article: Pennsylvania bids farewell to head of two authorities.(Donald Bagenstose of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Facilities Authority and State Public School Building Authority)

Donald Bagenstose, executive director of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Facilities Authority, is retiring today after 53 years of public service.

In 1987, former Gov. Robert Casey named Bagenstose as executive director of the facilities authority as well as the State Public School Building Authority.

The education facilities authority yesterday issued $157 million in revenue bonds on behalf of the University of Pennsylvania.

Gov. Tom Ridge has not yet named Bagenstose's replacement at the agencies. A spokesman for the governor could not be reached for comment.
