Challenges don't discourage Account Control Bureau President Richard R. Dancy. "My goal is to be the largest medical collector in town," he says. And it looks like Dancy just might do that.
Account Control Bureau, or ACB as Dancy prefers to call it, collects bad debts for local physician practices and medical billing services. The company operates in Louisiana and Texas, but most of its business is conducted in greater Shreveport-Bossier, an area with a population of 350,000.
ACB has 20 employees, half of them collectors. About $13-$14 million in debt was placed with ACB in 2006, Dancy says. The amount collected was about $2.76 million, for a recovery ...
