KEEPING TEACHERS UP TO SNUFF-- The National Science Foundation recently awarded a $2 million grant to the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) to run summer institutes and follow-up activities after the academic year for middle-level science teachers. The Teacher Enhancement in Support of Higher Standards project will help teachers fill the gaps in their own knowledge of science to prepare them for implementing the new science standards, soon to be released by the National Research Council.
