Last year I got swimmer's ear. I couldn't even touch my ear without it hurting, and I barely got any sleep. How do you get swimmer's ear?
Dear Monica:
Swimmer's ear is an infection in the skin of your outer ear. When you are in the water a lot, or if water gets trapped in your outer ear, the skin there gets soft. This makes it easier for bacteria to enter the skin. The bacteria starts an infection that causes the pain. This is what we call swimmer's ear.
