SAN ANTONIO, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Air Force has selected Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) as the manufacturer for 14 major structural elements and related replacement parts for RF/F-5 fighter aircraft. The Air Force awarded the contract March 14.
The three-year requirements contract has a potential value of $172,678,905, contingent on Foreign Military Sales (FMS) orders. The contract also includes two additional one-year options. Nearly 1,700 of more than 2,600 F-5 aircraft built by Northrop Grumman are still operating in 26 countries.
