Marc Andreessen has led the charmed life of a tech genius. Here are some of his career highlights, from co-founding the company that launched the Internet boom to Monday's sale of Opsware.
1993: Marc Andreessen and his team at the University of Illinois launch Mosaic.
1994: Silicon Valley legend Jim Clark teams up with Andreessen to create Netscape, which gives away the most popular browser software and ignites consumer fascination with the World Wide Web.
Nov. 1994: Time magazine puts Andreessen -- sitting on a throne in his bare feet -- on its cover as one of the "Golden Geeks."
