Over 13,000 nutritional supplement ads banned
Shanghai. July 24. INTERFAX-CHINA - The State Food and Drug Administration announced Friday that a total of 13,776 nutritional supplement advertisements have been banned for violating Chinese advertising laws this year.
In many cases, the advertisements exaggerated the health benefits and promoted the products as if they were approved drugs. Some companies had added or changed the advertisements after the original format had been approved by government authorities.
