Jul. 22--MUMBAI, India -- The last trading day of the week witnessed benchmark indices registering gains for the third consecutive session and closing at new record levels. While the Nifty breached the 4600-mark for the first time ever, the BSE Sensex moved past the 15600 level.
However, profit-booking in the later half of the trading session saw the indices coming off the day's highs. While inflation remained unchanged at 4.27 percent during the week ended July 7, Asian markets ruled firm.
