Jul. 24--A federal appeals court has ruled that plaintiffs alleging racial discrimination by employees at the Dillard's retail store in Columbia have a case and should receive a trial. A three-judge panel of the Eighth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 Friday that the plaintiffs -- black customers of Dillard's from Columbia and surrounding areas -- should have their day in court. Three women sued in April 2003 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, alleging that Dillard's employees discriminated against them while they shopped at the store.
