YAKIMA - Three Yakima pitchers held the Eugene Emeralds to three singles and the Bears bunched four hits into a two-run rally for a 2-1 win in Northwest League baseball on Friday night.
The loss cost the Ems a chance to gain a game on West Division-leader Salem-Keizer, which dropped a 5-4 verdict to Tri-City. The Volcanoes still lead by five games.
Yakima touched Eugene starter Matthew Lalos (0-1) for two runs in the fourth. Mark Hallberg opened the inning with a double and moved to third on Aaron Hanke's single.
