If the Swedish Academy was so determined to foist the Nobel Prize for Literature on an Austrian in 2004, a case could be made that the Austrian should have been Peter Handke rather than Elfriede Jelinek. But to have a dog in this fight you need to be a lot more comfortable in German than I am.
