Jul. 27--The Ohio School Facilities Commission said Thursday in a news release that Barberton is on a list of districts to receive state funding for construction projects.
But district officials are awaiting written notice before taking the final step to place a bond issue on the November ballot to help pay for Barberton's proposed project, said Ryan Pendleton, district treasurer.
The project would include replacing the city's two middle schools with a new building.
The Barberton school board earlier this month began the process to put the issue on the ballot.
The plan's price tag is about $72 million, with the state tentatively ...
