Jul. 27--STAMFORD -- Norwalk's deep lineup was potent, starting pitcher Michael Andino was steady, and those are two key reasons why Norwalk is in the winners' bracket and set for a showdown against Stamford tonight in the Babe Ruth 16-year-old New England Regional Tournament.
One moment it was a very close game against Eastern Massachusetts representative Merrimack Valley, and a short while later the 10-run mercy rule was brought into play.
Norwalk took a 5-4 lead into the top of the sixth inning, then scored nine runs, then Andino hurled his fourth straight scoreless inning to secure Norwalk's 14-4 six-inning victory last ...
