Something about those early Sunday games gets the Emeralds off to a fast start.
Eugene jumped on Tri-City starter Drew Coffey just minutes after the 4:05 p.m. start time with six runs in the first inning and cruised to a 12-4 win over the Dust Devils in front of 3,213 in Northwest League baseball at Civic Stadium.
Exactly one week after scoring eight runs in the first inning of an 18-7 win over Vancouver, the Ems batted through the order and hit back-to-back home runs while taking a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
