Jul. 27--STAMFORD -- City officials last night said much of the confusion surrounding the transition to curbside trash collection has subsided.
Stamford officially ended backyard pickup July 16, the same day it took over recycling work previously performed by a private contractor.
Complaints abounded during the first two weeks of the month, while recycling was temporarily suspended during the transition.
"Things seem to be quieting down," said city Rep. Joseph Coppola, R-15, who represents Belltown. "I called a few people back today, who had contacted me, and they all seemed satisfied."
