Jul. 27--For the week of April 2, 1966, an area band called the Starfires was No. 8 on former local radio station WARM's hit list for its song "You Done Me Wrong." No. 1 for the week was "Daydream" by national act The Lovin' Spoonful.
The Starfires' song placed them on area radio stations' top charts among Elvis, the Doors and the Rolling Stones.
The achievement will be something old but good to talk about when The Original Starfires play at the Harveys Lake Fire Company's fund-raiser tomorrow at the Irem Temple Country Club from 8 p.m. until midnight, along with Tom Slick and the Grease Slappers.
