Jul. 26--VIRGINIA BEACH A $3.3 million home for profoundly mentally retarded adults in the city should welcome its first residents in September, members of the Virginia Beach Community Services Board were told on Thursday.
Construction of the 24-bedroom home known as Biznet Village is nearly complete and a ribbon cutting ceremony has been scheduled for October, said Jay Lazier, mental retardation director of the city's Human Services Department.
