Jul. 28--John B. Cordova announced Friday that he will seek the Pueblo County commissioner's post to be vacated by Loretta Kennedy next year.
Kennedy is term-limited. State Rep. Dorothy Butcher is planning to run for the commissioner seat and leave her legislative District 46 open in the 2008 election. All are Democrats.
Cordova, 62, ran against Kennedy in 2004 when she won the Democratic primary. He is retired from the Colorado Department of Transportation, where he was a traffic engineer. Before attaining his engineering degree, he worked for the county's road and bridge department from 1975 to 1988. He said he has wanted ...
