Jul. 29--STAMFORD -- It was the same scenario as it always is when it comes to the first round in the handicap divisions in the Stamford City Amateur Golf Championship.
Several golfers get out with hot rounds in each division to put themselves in contention for a championship, while many more golfers are in the middle of the pack and looking to make the cut to get themselves a third and final round next Sunday.
Yesterday was jockey-for-position day at Sterling Farms, while today's second round at E. Gaynor Brennan is the day to either remain a contender, become a contender, make the cut or miss the cut.
