Jul. 29--Even as clouds formed overhead Saturday, crowds formed in Akron's Hardesty Park to examine the exhibitors' wares and sample the funnel cakes at the 28th annual Akron Arts Expo.
Traffic had slowed to a crawl around noon -- helped, to be sure, by an outbreak of construction-accompanying orange cones on West Market Street, as well as a burst of yard sales near the park.
At the expo itself, about 160 exhibitors were showing their wares. They included humorous paintings and serious photographs, jewelry and pottery, clothes and birdbaths.
