Jul. 29--John R. Bair has been named president of the Tulsa World, Publisher Robert E. Lorton III announced.
Bair, 39, has been with the World since 2001 and has been vice president and general manager since 2003.
"John, with his passion and knowledge, has steered us through some challenging situations," Lorton said.
Lorton said the new title better defines Bair's duties and responsibilities.
"He will continue overseeing all functions of the newspaper business," Lorton said.
