DENPASAR, July 30 Asia Pulse - The government has increased its budget allocation for poor people's health insurance this year from originally Rp4.6 trillion (US$501 million) to Rp5 trillion, Health Minister Siti Fadillah Soepari said.

The financial assistance would be given to poor people who receive treatment at state hospitals, she said after accompanying President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a meeting with Australian Prime Minister John Howard here Friday.

Howard was in Bali to inaugurate the Australia-Bali Memorial Eye Center (ABMEC).
