CHARLTON - "I hate bugs," Delight Stackhoust, 14, said while standing on the beach at Buffumville Lake and swatting at the buzzing by her ears.
For the Army Corps of Engineers rangers close by, it was another day in the park but for Delight and 18 other children bused here from New York City, it was the first day of junior ranger camp sponsored by The Fresh Air Fund.
"The city never sleeps. You always hear cars and people," Delight said, contrasting her life in the Bronx with the quiet she has found in rural communities during six years with the program.
