Jul. 30--Fans will be able to enjoy world-class tennis at the Bank of the West Classic through at least 2012, officials announced Sunday at a news conference on the Stanford campus prior to the women's singles final.
The final drew a sold-out crowd of 3,733 to the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
"I would just like to add how enthusiastic the Bank of the West is to bring women's tennis to the Bay Area," said Bank of the West President and Chief Operating Officer J. Michael Shepherd. "So happy, as a matter of fact, that we're very pleased to announce that we've extended our relationship for another five years."
