Adorning virtually every surface of the Spanish Chapel, Andrea di Bonaiuto's frescoes are unquestionably among the most important cycles of painting from the second half of the fourteenth century in Florence. (1) Executed in 1365-1366, these frescoes constitute one of the grandest expositions of the mission of the Dominican order ever committed to imagery.
