Jul. 30--INDEPENDENCE -- A Waterloo businessman who was pulled from the Wapsipinicon River during an overnight stay on the RAGBRAI tour has died.
Rich Droste, of Waterloo, passed away Sunday at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo where he had been since Thursday night.
He was 62.
Family members declined to comment about the accident this morning and said a written statement from a family spokesman would be coming later.
Rich Droste had ridden in almost every RAGBRAI with the exception of three or four, said Stewart Droste, his son.
