SEOUL, July 30 (Yonhap) -- Doosan Infracore Co., South Korea's largest construction equipment maker, said Monday that it has signed a deal to buy three units of U.S.-based Ingersoll-Rand Co. for US$4.9 billion as part of its efforts to beef up its overseas business.The acquisition is the biggest-ever overseas acquisition by a South Korean company.

Doosan Infracore said its overseas unit, to be set up later, will buy the multinational industrial company's compact equipment unit, utility equipment and attachments divisions, it said in a regulatory filing with the Korea Exchange.The three units have 73 operations in 27 countries, and 16 factories in 16 ...
