Jul. 31--Camaguey, Cuba His rambling essays on world affairs have supplanted his famous marathon speeches. His red Cuba tracksuit has replaced his trademark olive green fatigues in his occasional taped appearances.
Although he has not been seen in public since last year's Revolution Day, Fidel Castro's behind the scenes presence has overshadowed his brother Raul's successor government and its ability to deal with bread-and-butter issues.
