CONYERS RECEIVES NAACP SPINGARN MEDAL: U.S. Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-MI), accompanied by his sons, Carl, 11, and John III, 17, thanks the NAACP for presenting him with the Spingarn Medal during the Freedom Fund Banquet at the civil rights organization's recent convention in Detroit. It is the NAACP's highest honor and is given to highlight distinguished merit and achievement among Blacks.
