MARK Read, the former Birmingham and Warwickshire No.1 who was killed in a road traffic accident in 2004, is to have a foundation set up in his honour.
Former Curdworth team-mates Ian Ferguson and Andrew Hare are involved in the scheme, which will help young players in the city improve their skills.
"This seems the best way to remember Mark as he was always giving up his time to help kids of all standards play the game he loved," said Ferguson.
The first event, three days of coaching, will be held at the Birmingham Sports Centre between August 8-10, with applications invited from all clubs in the Birmingham League.
