PRIVATE hospital groups have denied accusations of massive overcharging that could cost medical schemes R2 billion by the end of 2007.
Netcare said it would be seeking legal advice to redress the "wrongful statements" of Rajesh Patel, head of the benefit and risk department of the Board of Healthcare Funders.
Yesterday The Mercury reported that Patel, speaking at a Board of Healthcare Funders conference in Sun City, had said that private hospitals |had been charging medical schemes inflated prices for medical devices and materials and had overcharged for anaesthetic gases.
