VISITORS to the fun fair on Durban's beachfront watched on Saturday night as four people were rescued when the cable car ride along Durban's beachfront developed a technical fault, leaving passengers suspended in mid-air.
Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said that two occupants in two cars had been enjoying the ride when something went wrong several metres above ground.
"At 8pm Netcare 911, the police Search and Rescue Unit and the fire department were called in by the fair's management who asked for help to rescue four people trapped in the air in the cable cars, Botha said."
