Aug. 1--America's Founding Fathers rebelled at the notion of taxation without representation.
Wonder what they'd say about a revolutionary notion growing in popularity across the country -- tax-free shopping days for back-to-school items?
North Carolina will hold its tax-free holiday on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the sixth year.
In all, more than a dozen states have the holidays, typically in August and usually on back-to-school items such as clothing, footwear, school supplies and computers.
But some states have added a second tax-free day for energy-efficient items.
