There are many ways to read Moby-Dick. Some can read the novel in a sitting, if by sitting we mean remaining glued to the book while assuming a comfortable position in a comfortable chair, couch, or bed, for what I estimate has to be thirty hours straight, without pausing for food, drink, or (these days) frequent urination. Others take a more casual approach. My wife read Moby-Dick in three weeks, but those three weeks were spread out over three years.
