Aug. 1--A 118-acre farm with a historic mill in West Lampeter Township is for sale for $4 million.
The working farm at Lime Valley and South View roads is owned by John Hofmeister and his wife, Karen. Hofmeister, who grew up in New Holland, is the president of Shell Oil Co.
The couple operates the John and Karen Hofmeister Foundation, which has been restoring the circa 1846 roller mill on the property.
The couple, who live in Houston, bought the farm property between 1996 and 1999, paying a total of $1.58 million. They never lived there full-time.
The property includes two historic homes, the mill, two barns and several outbuildings. It is listed by Kurfiss ...
