Aug. 2--FORT LAUDERDALE -- A twin-engine plane tumbled from the sky near Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport on Wednesday night, narrowly missing traffic on Cypress Creek Road before it touched down on the road, skidded into a tree and burst into flames.
Three people on board managed to walk away with minor injuries and declined to be taken to a hospital, firefighters said.
Investigators, rescue workers and witnesses were stunned at the sight of the charred and mangled remains of the small plane, as well as the news that no one was seriously hurt in the wreck in the 1100 block of West Cypress Creek Road just before 8 p.m.
