Aug. 2--They had lived with the pain, but Wednesday was their first time to hear it.
In the courtroom of the third day of an attempted murder trial, Rafael Mendoza's family struggled as they listened to the 911 tape Mendoza made the night of Sept. 11, 2006, after being attacked and stabbed.
Clutching a box of tissues, Mendoza's sister, Isabel Mendoza, wiped the tears after taking a break from the courtroom.
