BRIEF: Dukes Charged With Violating Order.

Aug. 3--TAMPA -- The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office on Thursday charged beleaguered baseball player Elijah Dukes with a single count of violating a domestic violence injunction.

If convicted on the misdemeanor, Dukes faces a maximum punishment of a year in jail.

Assistant State Attorney Douglas Covington said Dukes will get a subpoena and a court date but likely will not be formally arrested and booked into jail on the charge.

Dukes' criminal attorney, Ronald Hanes, did not return a call for comment.
