DURBAN: South African diplomatic officials were travelling to Peshawar in Pakistan yesterday to verify the identity of a murdered man whose body was found in a plastic bag in the city on Sunday.
Pakistani and SA authorities had apparently been searching for the man, whom Pakistan police believe was Kenneth Scott Andrew, from Durban, for some months after his family notified them of his disappearance in Pakistan.
Department of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Nomfanelo Kota said yesterday: "We have not yet confirmed it (that he is South African) ... the process of verification is under way. Officials are on their way to Peshawar."
