Aug. 3--Beginning next week, a handful of area lawmakers will join dozens of their colleagues and leave the state -- on the taxpayers' dime -- to attend legislative conferences.
The first of two events, organized by the National Conference of State Legislatures, runs Sunday through Thursday in Boston.
State Sen. Bob Duff, D-Norwalk; House Minority Leader Lawrence Cafero, R-Norwalk; state Rep. Antonietta "Toni" Boucher, R-Wilton; and 77 of their colleagues have signed up to attend a variety of policy forums.
