Aug. 3--City AFSCME union leader Jesse Dixon said Thursday he's filing a grievance against Kokomo Mayor Matt McKillip's new drug testing policy, one day after dozens of previously drug-testing exempt employees were asked to provide urine samples.
Dixon said he believes more than 70 employees were asked to give samples Wednesday morning, just over two weeks since the new policy went into effect.
Anyone considered to have a "safety sensitive" job was included in the new random testing pool, with the exception of unionized police and firefighters, city human resources director Jack Dodd said Thursday.
