When the lights go down and the curtain rises Saturday night for the opening of Oregon Festival of American Music's "Babes in Arms" at the Hult Center, in the audience will sit at least one very discerning fan.
Isabelle Littman, who lives in Eugene, first saw the Richard Rodgers/Lorenz Hart musical in its original Broadway run - in 1937.
Littman, now 87, came from a working class family in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. As a teenager she had a Saturday job as an assistant in a women's clothing shop. That gave her the $1.10 it cost to buy an upper balcony seat at a Broadway show at the ...
