Aug. 5--Fort Lauderdale Sandra Silien looked on as her 4-year-old granddaughter, Mya McFarlane, piled pink leggings, skirts and other back-to-school clothes into a shopping cart Saturday, and expressed relief at the start of Florida's sales tax holiday.
"We came for the bargains; these are tax-free," said Silien, 44, of Wilton Manors, gesturing to her cart brimming with children's clothing. "We haven't gone broke yet."
