Aug. 5--Education, church and family are the mainstays of Julian Garcia III's life.
A lifelong educator, Garcia is now assistant principal at The Science Academy at Mercedes, where he has served in that role for five years, he said.
He previously spent 24 years teaching special education students at South Texas High School in San Benito, which was also a part of the South Texas Independent School District, before being transformed into a high school for health careers, Garcia said.
