Aug. 5--The Tulsa Talons didn't need a last-second comeback this time. They put together a sustained defensive effort and crushed the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz 65-27 in Saturday's first-round af2 playoff game before 3,151 spectators at the Convention Center Arena.
Defensive end C.J. McLain missed the previous meeting on July 16 when the Yard Dawgz scored 69 points and forced the Talons to win at the end.
This time, McLain led a determined rush that sacked OKC quarterback Stan Hill twice and forced him to throw under pressure many times and was named the game's defensive MVP.
