SUTTON - Ralph W. "Bud" Gurney Jr. did not live to see the 250th birthday celebration for his beloved Waters Farm.
But the former Waters Farm Preservation president spent endless hours during his 82 years ensuring the farm, and the public's interest in it, would outlive him.
"He knew he wasn't going to live forever," said Pam Gurney Farnham, Mr. Gurney's daughter and a member of the board of directors of Waters Farm Preservation Inc. "But he wanted the farm to live forever."
