The RTA will park its new headquarters in the Historic Warehouse District downtown if general manager Ronald Tober has his way.
Mr. Tober said he plans to ask the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority board this Tuesday, Feb. 21, to approve the purchase of the Root-McBride Building, 1230 W. 6th St., as a new headquarters for the transit system. If the purchase is consummated, RTA would move its 300 headquarters employees to the building in March 1996.
"We've reached a deal with the building's owners; now we need an approval from the RTA board to go ahead and sign the documents with them," Mr. Tober said.
