The ABC's of charitable gift annuities.

Donors are given fixed payments for life in exchange for their cash and securities under a charitable gift annuity. Both donor and recipient derive several benefits through the charitable gift annuity. Donors get a fixed amount for life and an immediate income tax deduction. In turn, charities get a gift remainder of at least half of the annuity's value. Before establishing a charitable gift annuity, donors are advised to know their state's laws on annuities.

A charitable gift annuity offers major advantages to both donor and donee. But it's irrevocable so check with your attorney first.
