Amita Verma is one of the most renowned leaders and pioneers of early childhood education in modern India. A pioneer in the field, her contributions span 40 years. She has built a premier institution, the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, at Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in Baroda, India, that has strengthened and expanded the field of early childhood education in that country. Furthermore, she has inspired many students to become early childhood educators and child development professionals.
