Shuttered churches, dilapidated houses and rundown buildings aren't the sort of places that spring to mind when most business owners start looking to expand their operations, but there are those who look at the relics of the past and see the future.

"Many people are just stuck in cubicles with florescent lighting and a bland work environment,'' said Deanna Bremer Fisher, director of marketing and development for the Cleveland Restoration Society and Preservation Resource Center of Northeastern Ohio.
